Welcome Timeless! Today, we’re diving into a powerful and life changing truth: WE ARE MADE NEW IN JESUS, SO WE’RE CALLED TO LIVE LIKE WE’RE NEW.

It’s easy to forget in the day to day, but when we placed our faith in Christ, something incredible happened. The old us, the brokenness, the guilt, the shame, was crucified with Him, and in its place, God began something brand new.

We are made new “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Because of that transformation, we’re not just saved, we’re called to walk differently, think differently, love differently.

Living like we’re new means letting go of old ways, embracing grace, and walking in the Spirit daily.

PART 1: Made New in Jesus

1. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
  • This is the core verse. When we place our faith in Jesus, we’re not just improved — we’re reborn. Spiritually, we’ve passed from death to life (John 5:24).

  • “New creation” speaks of something entirely fresh — a spiritual rebirth that changes our identity.

2. Ezekiel 36:26

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you...”
  • God promised transformation, not just behavioral change. Our desires, motives, and hearts are renewed by His Spirit.

3. Romans 6:4

“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead... we too may live a new life.”
  • Baptism symbolizes this new life: the old self is buried, and we rise with Jesus into a new identity.

PART 2: Living Like We're New

1. Ephesians 4:22–24

“You were taught... to put off your old self... to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”
  • Paul uses “put off” and “put on” — like changing clothes. We’re called to actively reject our old habits and embrace Christlike living.

2. Romans 12:2

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
  • Living like we’re new starts in the mind. God transforms us from the inside out.

3. Colossians 3:9–10

“You have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.”
  • This “being renewed” is continuous — every day, we’re called to grow more into who Christ made us to be.

Being made new in Jesus means your identity has changed, you're no longer defined by your past. But that change calls for a response: to live like you’re new, with renewed thinking, purpose, and actions shaped by Jesus.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and reflect on this truth, that in Jesus, we are made new. Whether you’re just starting your walk with Christ or you’ve been walking with Him for years, His transforming power is always at work, making us more like Him, day by day.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
